A.P.C. is the old standby for French classics with something extra – the look is clean without being stuffy, there’s always something smart and cheeky about the line.

Thanks to Edwynn Houk Gallery (a gallery dedicated to photography that first opened in Chicago in 1980, as the primary representative for André Kertesz, Brassai, Bill Brandt, Ilse Bing… some of our favourites) we came across Abelardo Morrell. Abelardo Morrell, american photographer, is well known for its Camera Obscura work which is amazing, photographs in the most authentic way, simple and powerful.

Wow. If you are in New York, you must go see Heard NY. Artist Nick Cave, along with CreativeTime and Alvin Ailey have put together the most wonderful and whimsical experiential presentation at Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall. The clip above gives just a glimmer of what the project is about, but the reality of watching it in the flesh is so much more exciting. From the anticipation that bubbles up from the crowd that gathers in the hour leading up to the show, to the first notes of live harp and drums, to the transformation of these static pieces of sculpture into living moving creatures, each with their own personalities - it is a magical experience.

In a word: dreamy.

HANG 10 is back! This week, we chat with PR and Marketing whiz Arielle from Jonathan Adler. She’s very possibly the most hilarious girl around…

1. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A doctor. But, then I spent a little more time growing up with my parents, who are both doctors, and was all, no way!

2. Who do you look up to?

My first boss, who is now the Media Director at Bird, is a fearlessly fabulous lady that I look up to. She is fantastically chic, hysterical, empathic, sensitive and taught me that you can have a mentor, friend and mother in the most unexpected places. I admire her career, her life and, of course, her closet.

3. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

My first boss told me to always work for people that you admire and respect. In life, my dad always says to embrace change and things that give you anxiety.

4. How have you changed in the past year, and how do you hope to change in the next?

I think I this is a question to revisit in Therapy. I will get back to you on this one. But, a lot of change has happened and I can only hope there’s more to come. I know I am forever a work in progress.

5. What do you love about what you do?

I love that I get to go to work everyday with the greatest group of freaks. They make me laugh hysterically everyday and have become great friends.

6. What is your idea of the perfect day (or night)?

When you’re surrounded by the people you love the most, you’re laughing and at total ease. Impromptu dance parties never hurt either.

7. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Santa Monica, New York or Paris. I am a walking cliché and I am okay with that. They’re just the best places on earth (to live).

8. What are your favorite places in your neighborhood?

Tiny’s because it covers a lot of bases - great for brunch, dinner and drinks - it’s my go to spot that I never get tired of.

the otheroom because there’s nothing better than a wine bar, in my heart of hearts I am a total vino-phile.

The Hudson River - I love living near water. It’s not quite the Santa Monica beach I grew up staring at but it will do, for now. I never say no to a bike ride along the water (except when it’s frozen outside).

9. If you had three wishes…

1. To be an incredible cook. I think is sexy when a woman can just whip up a delicious meal without making a fuss.

2. To be contently fulfilled, happy and in love—whatever that might look like. (Like I said, embracing clichés…)

3. The shallow wish—the Celine bag I’ve been lusting after for the past few years.

Update: Lo and behold - the first and second full episodes are here! Couldn’t be happier that Wes Anderson loves France Gall as much as I do (it’s not the first time he’s featured her music in an ad)!

Aside from having the girliest name, Elderflower Presse is my ultimate favorite drink. It’s light and tangy and fizzy and just tastes like summer. I first tried it at a river-side picnic (not even kidding), and it always takes me back. In sum: sunshine in a bottle…ahh.

Un parfum - Déjà le printemps

A few weeks ago, going from perfumeries to perfumeries with my friend Laurent helping him in his perfume hunt, we stopped by Marie Antoinette on the lovely place Sainte-Catherine. I wanted to smell that Carriere Freres candle Kate talked about. Unfortunately they were soldout, but we discovered Oriza L. Legrand, an Old/New perfumer, and fell in love with a fragrance called Déjà le printemps (Figs, Cut grass, Sun, Summer rain).
